Our Research
We will undertake research to better understand autism, to test new medicines, to better analyse data and to explore policies on autism
AIMS-2-TRIALS is not a single research study, but includes a range of studies carried out by different groups. These include research into biomarkers (markers to predict how a person develops and how they might respond to treatment) and tests of new medicines, as well as research into autism policy. We also aim to improve the research process, for example by creating new ways to manage large datasets, creating a clinical research network across Europe, and providing training. Ethics is embedded into each study from the very beginning and, for added oversight, the ethical issues of all studies are coordinated across the whole programme. Each part of this large and complex project aims to contribute to the wellbeing of autistic people.
