General Information

The clinical foundation for biomedical research (Fundació Clínic per la Recerca Biomèdica (FCRB)) manages the research activities of Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona (HCPB), a third party to FCRB. Hospital Clínic is a leading Spanish Centre for medical research. The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology in Hospital Clinic is specialized in top-level clinical care and research in psychiatric disorders such as neurodevelopmental disorders. Research into the efficacy and safety of medication for children with psychiatric conditions is on the priority list. The Department has about 1000 new patients per year and provides inpatient care, day hospital and specialized approach in outpatient units. It has extensive clinical expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Tourette and related disorders and recently has been equipped with one of the only three Autism Reference Units of the territory. The clinical and research team has long experience conducting clinical trials, follow-up of psychopharmacological side effects, neuroimaging and genetic studies on these populations.

 

Role in AIMS-2-TRIALS

Hospital Clínic will contribute to the European Clinical Research Network, conduct clinical trials and participate in all stakeholder tasks appointed in the Communication  project.
